Behaviour Support and Advice - Got a Teenager?
Parenting teenagers can be likened to a roller coaster, with many ups and downs along the way. Some parents see changes in their teenagers almost overnight, whereas others may see a gradual change. Teenagers can also experience highs and lows through changes in their lives, both emotionally and physically. You may feel more anxious as your teen becomes more independent, and it can become harder to give them advice. Parenting teenagers can be an enjoyable experience with a little bit of preparation, and we offer a wealth of information on the different issues you might face.

FRANK
In general, most young people, especially those under 16, trust their parents and will respond to any information and support you offer. However, as teenagers get older the culture gap may widen and communication may be more difficult. This does not mean you should not try. Before you do talk to your child about drugs, make sure you have accurate, up-to-date information about different types of drugs (explore our A-Z of drugs or FAQs) and make the time to have the conversation
